We are a volunteer, non profit, incorporated society.
Our aims are:
- To promote the welfare of ferrets
- To educate interested people regarding all aspects of ferret care and ownership
- To find homes for strays and unwanted ferrets, and
- To provide fellowship for ferret owners.
The NSW Ferret Welfare Society does not breed ferrets for sale or recommend breeders. If you have received information from a breeder claiming to be selling ferrets as an authorised member of the Society please let us know.
Our Society sells ferrets that are rescued or surrendered. More information on obtaining a ferret is available on the available ferrets page.
The NSWFWS has joined the 21st century and now has official apps available for iPhone, iPad and Android devices. Search for NSWFWS on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store to download our apps. Be sure to rate the app and leave us some comments.

Warm weather is starting up and it's possible we're in for some bad heatwaves. A ferret starts to become uncomfortable when temperature
s reach mid 20's and will put a ferret at a very high risk of suffering heat stroke and possible death.

| Goodbye & Good Luck|
After 15 years on the committee of the Ferret Welfare we would like to say goodbye & good luck to everyone especially the new committee of the Welfare we wish you all the best in 2015 & the continuing years. It will be strange for us not to be involved with the welfare but as we are moving south we decided now was the time to leave.
We hope everyone will still support the Ferret Shop as without that the welfare couldn't continue with the vet treatment for all the strays that come through the doors. Thank you to Julie for taking Treasury, Kitty for taking on the shop as it is not an easy position also to Leah & Michael for taking on the newsletter & membership
Goodbye from Keren & Debbie.
